Jays fans take comfort in knowledge that they can still hate Shapiro and Atkins

Date:

OTTAWA – After a disappointing Game 7 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 World Series, fans of the Toronto Blue Jays are taking comfort in the knowledge that the defeat means they can continue to despise the organisation’s management team headed by Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins.

Meredith Allen of Regina explained her reasoning. “Obviously this loss was heartbreaking,” she said, “but I’ve spent the last 10 years blaming Shapiro for everything that’s gone wrong in this time. I’m not sure I’d be able to handle not being able to do that”.

Steve Tran of Scarborough agreed. “I’m not sure what I’d be able to do without being able to use the phrase ‘internal improvements’ as an ironic dig at Atkins’s abject failure,” he said.

“And Shapiro? Remember, we’re talking about the same guy who ran our precious Alex Anthopoulos out of town, I’m not confident I’m at a place where I’m ready to forgive that”.

Still, both agreed they ultimately would’ve traded their animus for a championship for their beloved Boys in Blue. Said Allen “In the end, I think a World Series would be enough for me to love Misters Shapiro and Atkins”.

“But, not Rogers. Fuck them forever”.
