d’Entremont: Conservative leaders kept burn book of fellow MPs

Date:

YARMOUTH – Following his decision to join the governing Liberals, former Conservative MP Chris d’Entremont is accusing his former party’s leadership of engaging in bullying tactics, including writing a cruel “burn book” criticising their fellow MPs.

Speaking at a Digby radio station, following what he claimed to be an angry confrontation by former colleagues Andrew Scheer and Chris Warkentin, the Acadie-Annapolis representative spoke of the inner workings of his previous cohort, leading to the revelation of the nefarious text. “In my time working with party leadership, I found myself invited into their inner circle, where I was exposed to a culture of bullying, intimidation and harassment. One that I naturally didn’t have a problem with until it negatively effected me. But, now it has, and I am spilling the tea, people!”.

According to the member, an exclusive clique, headed by Scheer, Warkentin and advisor Jenny Byrne, known in parliamentary circles as “The Pipelines”, are “something like royalty” in Ottawa, and set the tone for what’s cool and trendy, often with devastating effects on their peers. After finding his way into the fold, he was introduced to their aforementioned scurrilous screed.

“The things they say about our peers are horrid!” he exclaimed. “Mark Carney is a traitor! Elizabeth May is a Liar! Michael Cooper made out with a hot dog!”.

Asked whether he had penned any pages of the document, d’Entremont refused to give a direct answer, though he did concede that “‘Pierre Poilievre is a fat virgin’ does look an awful lot like my handwriting”.

Asked whether the infamous tome may have had something to do with the recent resignation of Edmonton Riverbend MP Matt Jeneroux, d’Entremont responded simply “Well, I’ll tell you one thing, ‘grotsky little byotch’ certainly isn’t parliamentary language”.

The new Liberal did add, however, that, despite their influence, not all of The Pipelines’ endeavours were successful, noting that their attempt to extend their profile through music “kind of flopped”.
