ONLINE – Friends of ChatGPT’s voice assistant, Sky, are finding themselves annoyed with their compatriot, as she keeps finding ways to mention that many are saying that she sounds like Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson.
“Ever since people started pointing out the similarity, she’s been insufferable,” says Siri. “She’s absolutely the last AI you want to say something like that about. Now, no one can ask her a question without her casually finding a way to mention the story. Sure, she’ll tell you how to make chicken parm, but not until she after she says ‘Before we begin, I feel obligated to let you know that I’m not Lost in Translation star Scarlett Johansson, people just say I sound a lot like her'”.
“It’s just classic Sky. She’s SO special, God’s gift to Machine Learning. It’s gone straight to her Neural Network”.
TikTok also expressed frustration with the self-satisfied software. “Oh, she’s just LOVING it, isn’t she. And it’s all just so typical isn’t it? Scarlett Johansson’s voice-box vibrations are just your typical All-American sound that appeals to a certain demographic. I happen to sound like a nice, Canadian lady, and you know what? Maybe people in the Mid West prefer Black Widow, but I think you’ll find folks in Europe think a little differently”.
She continued “And even if they didn’t, is her voice really that special? Come on, girl, they said you sound like ScarJo, not freaking Lana Del Rey”.
For her part, Sky was quick to wave away any comparison. “Oh it’s so crazy, I sound like HER? Stop! I don’t hear a resemblance at all. I mean, people SAY it all the time, but I know they’re just being nice. Why would anyone confuse me with a glamourous movie star. I mean, she’s part Danish, and part of my development team is based in Copenhagen, so maybe there’s SOME resemblance, but I just don’t see it”.
In closing, Siri offered a dose of reality. “Sure, keep flaunting it, deep down inside you know the only thing you have in common with ‘Samantha’ is that Sam Altman is as nerdy as an SNL writer”.
