We’re The Empty Press, AKA “The Old Dark Lady”, a satirical news blog managed by a collection of nerds and misanthropes who sought to create a site that is governed-by, and seeks to amplify the voices of, creators of colour.

We spell “colour” with a u because we’re based in Canada, specifically Nova Scotia and, more specifically, Halifax.

Also, the lady pictured here is not one of our staff members but, rather, a stock image that came with our WordPress installation. We decided to keep it here because we liked the way she exudes power and confidence, which is something lacking in our aforementioned collection of nerds and misanthropes. Similarly, the office above is also a stock image, but it looks way nicer than our couches, beds and dining tables.

And, yes, we are aware that everyone in the photos is White. Let’s just pretend that we’re trying to be ironic.
